Postmortal is a focused dream pop drum sample pack built around contrast, texture, and memory.

All of the sounds in Postmortal started as original drum tones created on the Steiner-Connolly Synthacon. From there, they were split into three related kits: clean, degraded, and hybrid. The idea isn’t variety for the sake of it — it’s giving you a small drum palette that already feels spatial, worn, and musical.

These aren’t repackaged drum machines or processed acoustic kits. They’re synthetic drums designed to sit quietly inside songs.

What’s included

Postmortal contains 114 total drum samples, organized into three kits.

Fossils — Hi-Fi Drum Samples (38 samples)

Clean, warm analog drum sounds recorded directly from the Synthacon. These are simple, solid hits meant to anchor a track without drawing attention to themselves.

The same base drum sounds, re-sampled through a Casio SK-1 and treated with spring reverb. Grittier, darker, and slightly unstable — useful for texture and mood.

HalfLife — Hybrid Drum Samples (76 samples)

Hi-fi and lo-fi versions layered together and panned across the stereo field, with spring reverb adding depth and width. These sit between clarity and degradation and are often the fastest to drop into a mix.
