Why I Made LCD Drum System
Very few indie bands have the dance floor energy that LCD Soundsystem does. They've somehow figured out how to make music that's quirky, raw, imperfect, and unmistakably human while still making you want to move. Those songs could have easily ended up sounding cold or overly electronic, but the drums are what keep everything grounded—they breathe, they groove, and they feel like there's an actual person behind the kit.
That's always been the magic for me.
I love sequenced analog bass synths and repetitive grooves, but I never want them to drift into sterile, overly polished electronic music. The moment you pair those hypnotic synth lines with lively, expressive drums, everything changes. Suddenly it feels like a band instead of a machine.
Honestly, I made these mostly for myself. I wanted a drum library that captured that feeling, so I spent months recording, multisampling, and organizing the sounds I'd actually reach for in my own productions.
